“The Path of Love
and Devotion is the easiest way to attain the Divine.”
Bhakti Sutras of Narada
Joy, Creativity & Gentle Healing Ritual Are Sorely Missing From Most Of Our Lives.
That’s is why I created this experience.
A Sense Of The Sacred is a Gentle Healing Immersion designed to introduce you to the 9 Limbs of Bhakti Yoga, while developing you as a confident facilitator of Harmonium and Sacred Sound.

Over the course of 6 months…
We’ll meet for a 3 hour LIVE workshop one Sunday a month where we’ll practice:
· Mantra chanting
· Harmonium playing and singing
· Classical Hindustani and Western vocal exercises to liberate, empower and transform your voice
· Embodied Mantric Movement (yoga-asana based mantra practice - not all sessions)
· Traditional agni hotra (fire ceremony) and other lineage-based rituals (not all sessions) so you can train your subtle senses to experience more of the sacred in each and everyday.
Beyond the practical aspects of this training, we’ll also do a deep dive into:
· Bhakti yoga history, philosophy and psychology
· The many deities, their stories and sacred days within the tradition
· An introduction to Sanskrit
· Music theory & song construction (so you can create your own tunes for your favourite mantras and possibly even write songs of your own)
· Nada Yoga (the yoga of sound)
· Spiritual Spine, wise love and avoiding cultural appropriation
In addition to our monthly workshop, each PARTICIPANT will gain access to our ASOS community membership site where you’ll receive:
LIVE Session recordings
50+ mantra videos, audios or chords to learn and practice with in your own time
Themed Embodied Mantric Movement recordings to open your body to greater grace
A recommended weekly practice schedule depending on your experience level and goals
A recommended reading list (including articles, podcasts or books).
A recommended listening list to deepen and expand your connection to kirtan
A simple monthly ritual (a real-world action to help root the 9 limbs into your everyday).
PARTICIPANTS WILL ALSO HAVE THE OPTION TO JOIN our Community WHATSAPP Group to ask questions, share stories and hold yourself accountable to some simple weekly assignments.
These assignments are optional & won’t take more than 3 minutes to complete but will keep you coming back to your harmonium so you can build the consistency & dexterity that one needs for this practice.
Participants will also be able to join our 30 minute meditation and energy healing classes every Tuesday at 7pm GMT+2. You can join these classes as soon as you register until the end of this teacher training. View your timezone.

“Kirtan is for all people…
There are no experts & no beginners. The practice itself is the teacher, guiding us to ourselves. Kirtan allows us to enter into a mystery world - a world where all the logic of our minds, all the conditions and learnings are left outside. And in this mystery, we create a temple inside of our hearts, a place of refuge, a place of love, a place of just being.”

Nope. I had zero formal musical training when I did my TT and my harmonium and I are besties.
Though we will cover some musical theory, this is just to support you if/when you feel that you might want to take your musical knowledge deeper and/or begin collaborating with other musicians.
You can play the harmonium quite comfortably without being able to read music. -
Not at all — this experience is first and foremost a healing for oneself. Those who want to become teachers will be given practicals, exams and detailed feedback that will support them in confidently leading.
Those who have no interest in leading need not complete those portions of the training. -
No you don’t but I do recommend getting one because the practice becomes that much more healing and profound.
There are many things to consider when getting a harmonium (shipping can also take some time), so I strongly recommend enrolling ASAP to receive a list of trusted suppliers as well as additional guidance in getting the right instrument for your needs. -
We begin playing our harmoniums in the very first session.
The lessons will be very simple.
You’ll also receive a bhakti library of 50+ mantras and songs (along with their keys and chords) for you to find the things you like, so you can experiment and explore in line with your interests and at your own pace.By month two you’ll be able to play some simple mantras and bhajans with your capacity, dexterity, sharing ability and devotional understanding deepening throughout the rest of training.
-
Yes there will be recordings to review as well as supporting content on the membership site.
All the relevant content is downloadable and you have access to the membership site for 6 months after the end of the training. -
This experience has a strong practical focus and learning to play an instrument takes time.
The optional weekly micro-tasks, membership site and Whatsapp Group will keep us connected between our LIVES.
My intention is that this experience is not another overwhelming burden but something enjoyable that you slowly heal your way into.
At the end of this 6 month period I’d like you to feel completely confident designing classes, practicing without notes and possibly even creating some songs of your own.
In addition to our monthly workshops you also have the option to meet us LIVE once a week on Tuesdays at 7pm GMT +2 to practice meditation and energy healing together. This too will keep us in flow. View your timezone. -
If you’d like to practice more regularly you can schedule a 1:1 with Mel for 88 Euro per hour (down from 111 Euro per hour because you’re in this container) and/or practice with your Bhav Bestie.
-
Your 1:1 sessions can be in-person if you’re in the same place as Mel. You can also join our ASOS retreat in 2026. Contact us if you’d like to learn more.
You’re also welcome to invite Mel to guest teach on your training, conference or retreat.

It's a term Mel developed that describes a range of topics which most healing spaces tend to avoid.
These include things like the role of healing arts practitioners in collective liberation, antiracism, queer rights, unconscious sexually predatory behaviours that are common in healing arts spaces, spiritual bypassing, shadow hierarchies, the invalidation of invisible illnesses and the differently-abled, spiritual gas-lighting, cultural appropriation and more.
Many classrooms completely ignore these very real issues for fear of being seen as "low-vibe" or "divisive".
In this experience we see how tapping into true devotion helps us build the resiliency to meet, both ourselves and others fully so we can take right action in 3D.
We train ourselves out of the tendency of collapsing when faced with difficulty. We develop a strong Spiritual Spine. -
Learning long form mantras is an art.
It can take many months or years to begin embodying their wisdom in an honest way, however, I will be sharing some of my favourite long form mantras (including the Hanuman Chalisa) as well as the process I use to “memorise“ and begin embodying them.
You will also be taught the harmonium melodies for these mantras so that when you do know them by heart, you’ll feel comfortable playing them with your instrument. -
Not at all. Use what's useful. Leave the rest.
-
You’re welcome to cancel your participation at anytime. However we don’t issue refunds for any of our trainings and you’ll still be liable for the full cost of the training even if you cancel. This term goes into effect upon receipt of your first payment.
-
No you won’t. If you are already a qualified yoga asana teacher then you can of course bring mantra into your movement, however if you’re not, I’d recommended partnering with someone who is, or using a different, more accessible form of movement if applicable (eg. Shaking, free dancing etc). If you’re not already a yoga teacher, then the asana in this experience is just something for you to enjoy.
-
No it isn’t. Asana forms the least significant part of this experience and it would be impossible to get you to an appropriate level of complete asana competency within this framework. This training focuses on teaching you how to play the harmonium while placing this instrument within the deeper context of the rich rituals, stories and traditions of the devotional practice that is bhakti so you can share it with those you love.
-
While you should definitely take care of yourself, I recommend that you treat this training like a healing retreat that you get to enjoy for a few hours once a month. If thereafter you feel inspired to share with others, wonderful, but you need not make this the main goal.
Also, in my experience, this practice is incredibly nourishing — when practiced appropriately, it gives one more time, more space, more energy; and more capacity, not less.

Let us know if you have any questions.
